Currently we have 5 run groups. Green, Yellow, Blue/White, Red/Black. Since we are anticipating a larger advanced driver turn out for this event the following 4 run group schedule might be adapted. The final schedule released 1-2 weeks prior to the event will specify how the run groups will be organized. The addition of the Pro group will not affect track time. The Green and Yellow run groups will simply be combined to compensate for the additional group.
Green/Yellow run group is for our least experienced registrants. Green/Yellow drivers will be assigned an instructor who will accompany them out on the track. Instructors will teach novice students HPDE basics such as cockpit etiquette, driving line basics (apex, track out), threshold braking technique, looking ahead and other basics of high performance driving.
Blue/White run group is an intermediate run group for registrants that have quite a number of track days and may still require an instructor to teach them more advanced HPDE techniques. At this level, some of the techniques may involve trail braking, passing and consistency. Those assigned to the Blue group will have an instructor. Those assigned to the White group will not have an instructor and will drive solo. White run group registrants may register as an “Advanced/Solo” driver.
Red/Black run group is an advanced run group for advanced/solo drivers and instructors. There is open passing in this group with a signal. You all are big boys and girls, you know if you’re supposed to be in this group.
Pro run group. This is a new run group we’ve added for our Twilight event. With many competitive organizations adding night events to their schedule, we’ve decided to accommodate those who may wish to utilize our Twilight event to enhance their night driving skills. For registrants who participate with other organizations such as AER, SCCA, NASA, Skip Barber etc. This is an open passing group. You probably have a “License”.
